The artwork featured in the Silent Auction showcases the work of clients enrolled in ACRS’ Behavioral Health Art Therapy Program. This program offers culturally appropriate curricula inspired from non-linear, holistic recovery models that focus on empowerment, strength, and hope. We strongly believe that art therapy effectively helps people with mental health issues to improve their cognitive ability as well as promoting an individual’s creative process. We provide the opportunities to express one’s feeling through art activities as a non-verbal form of communication. Patients do not have to follow rule of language, such as syntax, grammar, logic, or correct spelling. We create an inclusive, friendly, safe, and professional environment in our art studio setting so clients will feel empowered to discover his/her internal strengths, develop self-appreciation and self-recognition that eventually contributes to recovery.
